Now we fall in love with all our couples, I mean who wouldn’t?  We get to spend an entire day with them and share some of their most intimate and personal moments. I am not sure Ellen and Gavin entirely expected their photographer, to fall for them – literally!

Ellen and Gavin married on the 27th July 2013 with their reception to be held at The Cock Hotel, Stony Stratford – Buckinghamshire.  However, Ellen and Gavin have the most beautiful garden. Their renovation of the garden has been extensive and with the River Ouse running along the bottom it wasn’t hard to see why the couple love it so much. Within the initial consultation it was very apparent that having photographs in the garden meant so much to them and so it was planned that we would pop back to their home in between the ceremony and reception.

The couples colour theme of Ivory and Blush Peach looked amazing surrounded by a Summery garden and they were definitely relaxed in such familiar surroundings. I used their new arbour as a romantic picture setting and I spied the new tree swing which the couple suggested they have some pictures on the swing.  As Ellen and Gavin are a fun couple the pictures were relaxed and really romantic, but I wanted to try the shot from a different angle – this was quite probably my down fall.

Confidently I swung my camera about my neck and headed to the next tree and began to climb in to the leafy branches.  Slowly, I made my way up and having found a good angle, precariously began to balance myself in between some branches as I reached for my camera and in doing so, lost balance and slipped, well fell spectacularly from the tree.  This was not only in front of the couple but witnessed by the videographers!

It raised a lot of giggles and thankfully I only suffered a slightly bruised ego!  With garden photos finished we moved along to The Cock Hotel and a brilliant reception.

Thank you to Ellen & Gavin and a very memorable day.
